Anaximandro Fukuda (born 1928, Ocho Fuegos, DC; died 1987, Porto Colon, Latina) was an Ardispherian author and journalist, most noted for his gritty, hyperrealist novel about the laborors' life in and around the docks along the Río Grande and Río Hierro, El río metafísico (published 1965).
Ruífono is a large, diversified global media company based in Josusí, DF (map), in the Ardisphere, at the heart of the Ardispherian culture industry. It is listed on the Mercado de Valores de Villa Constitución and is included in the IBA-150.

In his youth Fukuda enlisted in the Ardispherian Merchant Marine, and after finishing his term he spent many further years working as a sailor for various international shipping companies, especially across the Central Ocean in Latina, where he returned many times in later life as an active participant in the cultural scene there, after becoming famous.

He worked with the director Ponce Pato Pimentel on the latter's popular cinematic adaptation of the novel in 1974, arguably one of the most critically acclaimed works of Ardispherian cinema of all time. When Pato Pimentel won the International Film Festival Award in Khaiwoon, the noted director is quoted as having said, "This prize is not mine. It belongs to Fukuda."
Interestingly, although the company does not actually own the iconic Torre Kapanadze (which is their main trademarked brand image, see at right), they do own the rights to its image in commercial contexts, due to some work by a forward-thinking company lawyer in the 1930s. The tower itself is owned by the VC government, but commercial use of the tower's image must be licensed by Ruífono. Generally speaking, they are not aggressive in pursuing abuses, but it does actually provide the company with a reliable revenue stream. The company maintains a small radio studio for their VC talk-radio subsidiary, RadioRuido, on deck 3 of the observation floors of the tower.

Fukuda collaborated on several other screenplays in subsequent years, and even bought a condo in Josusí in order to be close to the major Ardispherian film studios.
History
Fukuda died in a traffic accident while in Porto Colon in 1987, at the age of 59. His surviving family donated his papers to the library at the Universidad Wisniewski, among which the noted Ardispherian literature scholar Rosario Carvajal King discovered two untitled, unpublished novelas. She edited and published the works together in a single volume in 2001, under the title Sin títulos. The book received wide admiration and topped bestseller lists, and Pato Pimentel, despite his advanced age, has said he wants to try adapt them into movies too.
Originally founded by the famous inventor, Mafalda Ruíz in the 1880s, initially the Ruífono Company produced music boxes, player pianos and then achieved huge success with an early phonograph machine. Eventually, the company took to contracting and producing its own musical performances to provide recordings for its phonographs. By the early 1920s, the company had branched into radio broadcasting, household appliances and developed one of the first Ardispherian movie studios. By the 1940s, changing technology was rendering its hardware obsolete, and the company was increasingly synonymous with its broadcasting arms. Nevertheless, Ruífono audio equipment was still being manufactured into the 1960s, when the company finally divested its hardware arm entirely to concentrate on the higher margins of content production and broadcasting.

Today, for hardware the Ruífono brand is owned by an international electronics company and has been resurrected as brand for premium audio equipment, but the Ruífono company is not associated with that brand. In the area of content production, however, Ruífono remains one of the "big three" Ardispherian broadcast companies, in both radio and television, as well as running television, music recording and movie studios and branching successfully into online content.

History

Originally founded by the famous inventor, Mafalda Ruíz in the 1880s, initially the Ruífono Company produced music boxes, player pianos and then achieved huge success with an early phonograph machine.
