Bernal Zúñiga (born 1888, Cerro y Casa, DO; died 1939, Caracol, DS) was one of the preeminent Ardispherian novelists of the early 20th century. His great work, Conjugaciones imposibles (The Impossible Conjugations, published 1922), is considered the archetype of the Castellanese modernist novel. His other works, especially his short stories, are also considered masterworks of world literature and have been translated into numerous languages.
